An award winning provider in vocational education and professional development training for Australian and overseas students, Selmar Education Institute has joined the Australian Human Resources Institute as the Partner of HRIZON, the 2012 World HR Congress to be held in Australia during September this year.
AHRI national president Peter Wilson welcomed the Selmar partnership: “We are particularly delighted to announce Selmar as the HRIZON Congress Partner. In the vocational education and professional development field, Selmar Education Institute is taking all before it as an innovative educator in key areas of the Australian economy.
“AHRI recognises significant synergies between Selmar’s training mission and our own imperatives.
“At a time when turbulence in the global economy is stimulating an increasing need for companies to ensure that customer service is a competitive advantage, Selmar has become a byword in ‘quick service’ industries like retail, call centres and hospitality where they have exemplary relationships with global brands.
“Furthermore, Selmar realises that excellent training requires excellent trainers and has accordingly become a significant player in the Australian train-the-trainer field specialising in the Training and Assessment sector and preparing HR specialists, trainers and teachers.
“And finally, at a time when changing industry regulations and demand in workforce demographics are becoming a pre-eminent national issue in the Community Services Sector, Selmar has become a leader in both child care and aged care training in this country. So it can truthfully be said that Selmar Education Institute is a cradle-to-grave education innovator and AHRI is very pleased with that association’, said Peter Wilson.
Marcus Sellen-Founder and CEO responds: “Selmar is delighted to be the congress partner for this once in a lifetime opportunity. HRIZON is a champion of champions’ event with innovative new age concepts that reflect our own values of quality and our business focus on developing the workforces and leaders of the future. AHRI is preparing a spectacular event with the ‘who’s who’ of the industry and we look forward to participating ourselves and having some fun!”
The board of the World Federation of People Management Associations, of which AHRI is a member, gave Australia the mandate in 2008 to host the 2012 congress. AHRI nominated Melbourne as the host city in 2009. The last congress was staged in Montreal in 2010 and followed events held in London, Singapore and Rio de Janeiro in previous years. The last time a World HR Congress was staged in Australia was in 1988 at which time Sydney was the host city.
